The Actor: Becoming an Actress

Taylor's life continued as normal for a while until it came time to start the film. Before shooting began on the actual film, Taylor would have to go through several mock interviews, magazine and photo shoots, and red carpet events that were to be included in the film. While Taylor had been a guest on entertainment shows and talk shows as a guy, he found it a much different experience as a girl. Fake episodes of "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon," "Late Night with Seth Meyers," and "Bieber Live!" were shot where Taylor the actress appeared as the guest. The hosts treated her as a woman and even jokingly flirted with her. Unlike in real life, however, the interviews were all scripted as they were each scenes in the film. Between takes, each of the hosts asked her how it felt playing a female, and Jimmy Fallon shared his experiences playing female characters on "Saturday Night Live" and "Late Night." Taylor also filmed a short monologue and a couple sketches for a scene in which her character hosts "Saturday Night Live" on the way to her comeback.
The next thing Taylor had to do was shoot footage as a female at public events. She had been to Lakers and Clippers games, award shows, and movie premieres many times as a guy, but found it much harder as a female. While as a guy he could just wear a basic suit or tuxedo, Taylor the girl found she had to wear many different dresses and do much more posing. It felt strange watching the games as a woman and after the games some of the players, whom Taylor the guy was friends with, posed for pictures with her. At the red carpet events, she had to walk the red carpet with the actor playing her fake boyfriend in the film, since her character was secretly a lesbian, but presented herself as having a boyfriend to the public. She even had to shoot a few interviews and talk about her designer gowns, all of which was scripted.
Before the main production began on the film, Taylor also had to shoot various commercials and do magazine and photo shoots. She posed in a variety of outfits including dresses, tank tops, and shorts or jeans for the women's magazines, and in swimsuits, lingerie, or completely nude for the fitness and men's magazines, including Playboy. She was glad her prosthetics were made so well so as to appear real in the photos they took of her. Brooke had gone through pretty much all of this, and came along to support Taylor. Some of the photos were uncomfortable for her, but she stuck it out and was surprised at how sexy they turned out. It felt strange seeing herself in a fake Maxim's Hot 100 that was created for the film, although she was a little excited to see she was #3. She also shot some photos for a calendar and a poster that would be seen in the film.
Once that was finished, they began shooting the scenes from the fake CW drama series, a reality show, a couple commercials for hair and makeup products, and movies the character would be featured in in the film. Brooke played her co-star in the CW series "Passion Lake," and was also playing her secret lesbian girlfriend. In the film, Taylor is Hollywood's It Girl until her series is cancelled and she grows tired of making the same cheap movies and going around with a pretend boyfriend. Her life begins to unravel as she begins drinking and using drugs and she is outed as a lesbian. After being arrested and being shunned by her family for her being a lesbian, she eventually goes to rehab, becomes clean and sober, turns her life around, and films a role for which she wins an Oscar and attends the ceremony publicly with her girlfriend for the first time. While much of the public doesn't seem to mind her being a lesbian, it takes a while before she is able to reconnect with her family.
She also had to shoot a few music videos and pose for a few album covers. While the singing was added later, Taylor had to learn the choreography and lip sync the songs her character will be seen recording in the film. It felt strange for Taylor to have to dance in such a sexual manner with male dancers while wearing a very revealing outfit, but she knew it was an important part of the film. In the film, one of the ways in which Taylor tries to broaden her career is by recording an album. Unfortunately, the album is badly reviewed and furthers her downfall. While they had planned to have a singer sing the songs for the film, Taylor decided she wanted to record them herself to better connect with the character.
Soon, everything was ready and they were ready to shoot the main scenes for the movie. Taylor the actress now had almost as complete a career as Taylor the actor, including a lengthy Wikipedia and Imdb page; a website for her acting, modeling, and singing careers, a Myspace, Facebook, and Twitter account; and dozens of photos and articles created for key moments in the film. When she arrived on set the first morning after being made into Taylor the girl, she looked around the house that was being used as her character's house in the film. On the walls were framed posters from her photo shoots and on the tables there were copies of the magazines with her on the covers. It made her wonder what her life would have been like if she had been a female in real life. Many aspects of the character were similar to the male Taylor's life, except he wasn't secretly gay and had avoided any drug or alcohol problems and arrests. Taylor lay down in bed wearing a short dress, boy short panties, and one high heel. Her hair and makeup were tousled and she waited under the sheet for the director to call action.
